LAHORE – Airport officials foiled a young boy’s attempt to flee in the landing gear of a Boeing 777 aircraft parked at the Allama Iqbal International Airport late on Thursday. PIA authorities caught Muhammad Rizwan, 18, and handed him over to the Airport Security Force (ASF) for further action.
Rizwan was wearing a black shawl to mask him in the dark but was tracked down by the authorities. Sources have also revealed that during the initial inquiry, he said he tried to stowaway because he was very fond of traveling by air but did not have the means to do so, adding that the current disruption and confusion at the airports because of the PIA workers’ strike appeared as the perfect opportunity to him.

  1. This has happened before two months ago when a young school going boy tried to take a ride by clinching to Dubai bound plane landing gear he fell and died few minutes after plane took off. These attempts paints a very bleak picture of our younger members society where youth is unemployed, frustrated and see no future in this country. There is very strong correlation between poverty and terrorism. Our political clowns are too busy in polishing their acts for the next circus and they simply overlook the reality on the ground. Perhaps they may get some lesson if they just take a look in the eyes of this young man.
