Kidnapped; head chopped off; dumped

LAHORE – A head-less body of a 28-year-old man was found packed in a sack in Hanjerwal police precincts on Wednesday. Police suspects the man was kidnapped and later killed by unidentified men, who managed to escape after throwing his body. The police said some locals spotted the body lying in a local grave yard and informed the police, who shifted the body to the morgue for autopsy.
Police believe killers have thrown the deceased’s head somewhere else, and the deceased had been subjected to severe torture before killing.
DOCTOR COMMITS SUICIDE: A 40-year-old doctor shot himself in Ichhra police precincts on Thursday. The deceased, Dr Khurram Riaz, resident of Zaildar Park, had a dispute with his parents over property inheritance, after which he locked himself in a room and shot himself. His family barged in the room and rushed him to the hospital where doctors pronounced him as dead.
THREE KILLED IN ACCIDENTS: Three people including a woman were knocked down in separate incidents in different parts of the city on Thursday. A 55-year-old woman was run over by a car in Kahna police precincts. The deceased, Shamim, resident of Soye Asal, was rushed to the General Hospital where she died, while the car driver escaped.
Ishaq Ahmed (45), Barki resident, was knocked down by a car in Hadyara police precincts, while Amaanat (45), Nawankot resident, was run over by a car in Wahdat Colony police precincts a couple of days ago. Amaanat died at a local hospital yesterday.
FIVE FOUND DEAD: Five unidentified bodies were found from different areas of the city on Thursday. The body of an unidentified 65-year-old man was found laying along the roadside in Lower Mall police precincts, while another such body was found from Bund Road. Similarly, a body from Shadbagh, another from Bhaati Gate and a body from Gulberg was found yesterday. Police have shifted the bodies to the morgue for autopsies. The police said the deceased died of drug abuse.
