Kabaddi tournament inaugurated

LAHORE – Kabaddi silver medal in Dhaka’s South Asian Games, and bronze medals in Ludhiana World Cup and Guangzhou Asian Games last year have proved that kabaddi is on rise in Pakistan. This was stated Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association Chief Executive Officer Ashiq Qureshi, who was the chief guest at the colorful inaugural ceremony of the second All Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Sindhu Memorial Kabaddi Tournament.
The 13-team event will be held at the Malikpur Ground in Faisalabad. Winner of the event will get Rs 60,000, while runners up of the final will receive Rs 40,000. The bronze medalists will win Rs 30,000. The two best players will win motor cycles.
Qureshi praised the commitment of the organisers for the promotion of kabaddi in Pakistan.
The event’s Patron in Chief Khurshid Alam Sindhu said that M.A.Sindhu had a passion for kabaddi and this was the second event in his honor. “The top six players of the event will join our Kabaddi Club in Canada,” he said.
