Weekly inflation falls

ISLAMABAD – The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended on February 3, 2011 for the lowest income group up to Rs 3,000, has registered a 0.37 percent decline compared to the previous week. Provisional figures released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) reveal that SPI, for the week under review in the above mentioned group, was recorded at 296.25 points compared to 297.34 points in the previous week.
The weekly SPI has been computed with base 2000-2001=100 covering 17 urban centres and 53 essential items for all income groups and combined. SPI, for the combined group, registered negative growth of 0.37 percent, dwindling from 281.79 points in the previous week to 280.76 points in the week under review.
