ISLAMABAD – Without enacting any law to the effect, Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday directed the newly-appointed Inspector General Police Islamabad Wajid Ali Khan to register cases of mobile snatching and car theft under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Wajid called on the interior minister at his office with DIG operation. What seemed to be a mockery of the prevailing laws, Malik directed the police high ups to register cases of car theft and mobile snatching under the ATA. He asked them to take necessary measures for the protection of life and property of the people as it was the responsibility of the state.
He also directed them to take special measures for making fool-proof security of the Red Zone.
