PIA lead in Hockey Championship

LAHORE – PIA and National Bank of Pakistan are leading the 58th National Hockey Championship on the 10th day, with nearly all the teams having played seven matches. The championship, which is being played at the Faisalabad Hockey Stadium, will have its final on February 13.
PIA, having 19 points, are leading the points table, followed by NBP with 15 points. Steel Mills and PTV are rock bottom with three and zero points, respectively. Today, four more matches will be played with SSGC taking on PTV at 0900hrs, WAPDA facing Navy at 1100hrs, Army playing PIA at 1300hrs and HBL clashing with Port Qasim at 1500hrs. On the sidelines of the championship, the National Coaching Course is in progress and will conclude on February 10.
Twenty-two national grade coaches are participating in the course, while five coaches are attending as observers. The course is being held according to International Hockey Federation’s format.
