Livestock expo gets off to a roaring start

KARACHI – Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah spoke at the Livestock, Fisheries, Dairy and Poultry Exhibition and Seminar at Karachi Expo Centre organised by Sindh Board of Investment.
On the occasion, he said that particularly Sindh was an agricultural oriented province and besides food items, orchards, and vegetables, it is famous for prominent breeds in cattle, dairy farming, having vast area in coastal belt with fisheries, shrimps and poultry.
He said that the best breeds of animals such as Kundhi buffalos, Kamori goat, Thari cow and other animals are famous for milk and meat production. Shah lauded the efforts of Sindh Investment Board for properly projecting the potential of various breeds of livestock, fish, shrimps, camels, horses, desi and farm poultry, so as to attract investors and traders for consumption and export purposes.
He added that an exhibition creates awareness among local people and foreigners of breeds, species and varieties being used for food and other purposes. Sindh chief minister hoped that this exhibition will encourage livestock owners, dairy and poultry farmers to enhance breeding and production of their commodities. He expressed his hope that the Sindh Investment Board will further make concerted efforts to further do the needful for furtherance of objective.
Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for Investment Zubair Motiwala, Sindh Secretary for Investment Younis Dhaga, Sindh Secretary for Livestock Laeeq Memon, Businessmen Group Chairman Siraj Qasim Teli, office bearers of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, businessmen and traders were also present at the occasion.
Sindh CM also inquired of the performance and productivity in various commodity fields. In all there were 86 stalls belonging to reputed firms which included the stall of Punjab Government/Pavilion, Engro food, Yamaha amongst others. He also asked investors to invest in various sectors of province.
