ISLAMABAD – The FIA will move the Lahore High Court today (Tuesday) to get Moonis Elahi declared a proclaimed offender (PO) for his alleged involvement in the multi-billion rupee NICL scam. The FIA issued the arrest warrants for Moonis on January 29 after he failed to appear before the investigation team.
The deadline in this regard ends today, a senior FIA official said. He said the agency had also sent a request to Interpol and law enforcement authorities in the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates to seek Moonis’ extradition. The official said FIA had also frozen the accounts and property of other four accuse including Mohsin Habib Warraich, Javed Ali, Ameen Qasim Dada and Rana Muhammad Ali.
“FIA has frozen the accounts and property, under section 88 of the CRPC, of Mohsin Habib Warraich worth Rs 700 million, Javeed Ali worth Rs 440 million, Ameen Qasim Dada worth Rs 120 million and Rana Muhammad Ali worth Rs 870 million,” he said.
