Februray kicks the colour Red with Faiz festival

LAHORE – The vibrant Faiz festival kicked off starting Monday from the inauguration of Faiz’s photo exhibition at Al Hamra Exhibition Hall. Photos of Faiz, from suspended moments in his life with friends, colleagues, family, and sometimes even alone will be displayed in the hall till 13th of February.
Different events are organized by Faiz Ghar in this lieu. The next event will be a book launch planned for February 11 at Al-Hamra Hall 3. Entry is free for all. Books written by Faiz as well as books written about him by different authors will be displayed and sold. On the same day a Mushaira will be held at the Pakistan Television where audience can participate only by invitations available at the Lahore Press Club.
An international colloquium will be held on February 13, guests from all over the world will be invited to this colloquium. The international colloquium will continue till next day. A more interesting event will be held later during the evening on the 13th February when Indian alternate cinema actress Shabana Azmi is scheduled to make an appearance.
Shabana Azmi will be accompanied by her husband Javed Akhtar on February 12, to Lahore. The last day of the festival will end with jovial activities. A free entry Faiz Amn Mela will be held in an open air theatre at Lawrence Gardens (Bagh-e-Jinnah) on 14th February.
The mela will start at noon and go on till 4 pm. The same night Tina Sani will open a musical evening singing Faiz’s poems and ghazals. The event will be held at Al Hamra between 6 and 8 pm.
