LAHORE – Habib Bank will take on National Bank in the final of the Faysal Bank-sponsored National One-Day Cup (Division-I) on February 8 here at the Gaddafi Stadium. Imran Farhat-led HBL on Sunday defeated WAPDA by seven wickets at the Gaddafi Stadium while NBP defeated PIA by 32 runs at the Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad.
At Lahore, WAPDA were bowled out for 205 runs with Shoaib Maqsood being the highest scorer. Fahad Masood, Kamran Hussain, Danish Kaneria and Aslam Qureshi with their combined efforts restricted Wapda to a low total. In reply, Imran Farhat made 89 runs to not only ensure win for his side but also claim the man of the match award. He was supported by Taufeeq Umer. HBL made 206 runs for three in 43.2 overs.
Bilal Khilji took two wickets for NBP. At Faisalabad where the second semi-final was played, Sarmad Bhatti, Muhammad Talha and Fawad Alam performed well for NBP to get 248 runs. Anwar Ali and Fahad Iqbal shared four and three wickets respectively for PIA, who in reply were bundled out for 216 runs in 44.2 overs.
