LAHORE – Newly-elected president of the Defence Housing Society (DHA) Residents Association Rohail Akram on Sunday expressed his will to improve relations with other authorities. Akram made these remarks after the oath-taking ceremony of DHA Residents Association. He said that regular meetings would be called at every sector to develop an effective relationship with residents.
He urged executive members to find out problems of residents by visiting their respective sectors and directed them to collect problems in written form so that the issues could be taken up in front of the DHA administration. Akram said that various committees would be formed to solve problems of residents and only those members would be inducted in committees who could solve problems in an effective way.
Other members of the association including Nasira Mehmood, Abdul Majeed Sandheela, Nisar Fatima, Gulzar Chaudhry, Colonel (r) Mukarram Ali Shah and others presented various problems of residents during the meeting. A majority of residents complained about inflation in the commercial area and expressed concern over snatching of purses and cellular phones from women.
Some members also requested to call a DHA official during meetings to follow the old tradition so that they could know about their problems instantly. The members also requested reestablishment of Sunday bazaars at the DHA.
