LAHORE – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will organise a function at its central secretariat in Islamabad today (Saturday) to mark the Kashmir Day. Party leaders, parliamentarians and workers would participate in the function. In his message on Kashmir Day, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif said that solution of the Kashmir issue could guarantee cordial Indo-Pak relations and regional peace.
He said that since regional peace and progress was linked to solution of the Kashmir issue, the long-standing dispute should be part of international efforts to promote peace worldwide. The PML-N chief said that Pakistan is a responsible atomic country and peace in South Asia relied on sanity and seriousness of rulers of both Pakistan and India.
Nawaz said that Pakistan would continue to extend its moral, political and diplomatic support for a just and peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with wishes of the Kashmiris. “We remained engaged in a sincere, sustained and purposeful dialogue with India on Kashmir during both PML-N governments. We believe that with sincerity and courage, we can achieve a solution to the long-standing Kashmir dispute,” he said.
The PML-N chief said that Pakistan always stressed upon the need to end violence and human rights abuses in Indian-held Kashmir (IHK). Nawaz urged the Indian government to immediately negotiate all outstanding issues with Pakistan including the Kashmir dispute.
