LAHORE – Indonesia halted Pakistan Fed Cup team’s progress with a 3-0 win in the Asia-Oceania Zone Group-II tie at the outdoor hard courts of the National Tennis Centre, Nonthaburi, Thailand on Thursday. Pakistan will now face the Philippines in their last group tie today.
Pakistan, after winning the opening tie against Kyrgyzstan, were blanked by the Indonesian players. Even the fresh entrants, Saba Aziz and Sara Mansoor, failed to pose any threat to their rivals. All the four Pakistan players including Sarah Mahboob lost their singles and doubles matches in straight sets.
Results: Indonesia beat Pakistan 3-0 Ayu-Fani Damayanti (INA) d. Ushna Suhail (PAK) 6-1, 6-0; Lavinia Tananta (INA) d. Sarah Mahboob Khan (PAK) 6-0, 6-1; Yayuk Basuki/Jessy Rompies (INA) d. Saba Aziz/Sara Mansoor (PAK) 6-0, 6-0.
