LAHORE – In response to certain reports appearing in the media pertaining to the initiation of investigation against the Company Secretary of Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), it is hereby stated that LSE has no knowledge of any such action and has not been contacted, approached and visited by FIA with regards to this matter.
It is further clarified that the LSE has lodged a criminal complaint with FIA against two of its former employees in connection with misappropriation of funds of the LSE. The FIA is conducting its preliminary inquiry in the matter and LSE being an applicant is regularly following up with FIA for the registration of the requested FIR.
It is further clarified that LSE Governing Board of Directors, after having conducted an internal process, has already decided to not take any internal action against any of the existing LSE’s employees of previous management team, including the Company Secretary of the Exchange. All these employees have been accordingly intimated by the Exchange about the decision of the Board in this respect.
