LAHORE – Marketing companies on Thursday reduced LPG price by Rs 5 to 10 per kilogramme following reduction in Saudi Aramco’s contract price by $111 per tonne.
According to a press release issued by the All Pakistan LPG Distributors Association, marketing companies had reduced the price by Rs 11,300 per tonne, while price of an 11.8 kilogramme domestic cylinder has been decreased by Rs 60 to 110 and 45.4 kilogramme commercial cylinder by Rs 220 to 433 per kilogramme.
All Pakistan LPG Distributors Association Chairman Abdul Hadi Khan said after reduction in the production cost, domestic producers had been settled at Rs 81,800 per tonne for February. Hadi said that in Karachi, LPG prices would be Rs 105 to Rs 106 per kilogramme while in Lahore the commodity would be available at Rs 110 to Rs 111.
He said that slender reduction by producers and marketing companies was unjustified. The LPG distributors association president said that high prices had already reduced LPG demand by 40 percent.
