Lindsay Lohan is at the centre of a police investigation over the alleged disappearance of a pricey piece of jewellery. The owners of a store in Los Angeles have filed a police report claiming a £1,667 necklace was stolen from the shop, amid allegations surveillance footage shows the actress wearing the piece before it went missing.
Cops are said to have organised a warrant to search the actress’ home on Tuesday night, but one of Lohan’s associates allegedly turned the necklace in to police before the warrant was actioned. Sources report the ‘Mean Girls’ star, who was recently released from a court-ordered rehab stint, denies any suggestion she took the necklace.
Lohan was previously caught up in a missing jewellery scandal back in 2009 after valuable gems went missing from a magazine photoshoot in London. A police investigation was launched but bosses insisted Lohan was not a suspect. She was also threatened with legal action by a Beverly Hills jeweller who claimed she had failed to return £1.3 million worth of pieces he loaned her for an event.
