LAHORE – Lahore and Okara have reached the final of the PBCC National Blind Cricket T20 Cup, which will be played today at the New Campus Cricket Ground, Punjab University. On Thursday, the semifinal games were played in which Lahore beat Gujranwala while Okara moved past Sheikhupura.
In the first semifinal, Lahore defeated Gujranwala by nine wickets. Gujranwala lost all their wickets in 12.1 overs for just 74 runs. Muhammad Akram was the top scorer with 32 runs. Lahore’s Shariq Yaseen took three wickets. In reply, Lahore cruised to the target of 75 runs in 6.3 overs for the loss of just one wicket. Slamoon remained unbeaten on 40 runs. Shariq Yaseen was declared man of the match.
In the second semifinal, Okara beat Sheikhupura by six wickets. Sheikhupura scored 121 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Ali Raza was the top scorer with 24 runs. Okara’s Iftikhar took two wickets while Faseeh Ullah took one wicket. In reply, Okara reached the target in 12.4 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Muhammad Ashraf again starred for Okara with an unbeaten 66 runs, and was declared man of the match. Uzma Bokhari, MPA Punjab, was the chief guest on the occasion and gave away the prizes.
