WAZIRABAD – In the court of Section 30 Magistrate Ijaz Ahmad Gondal, an accused, Sabir Bashir Proya of Kot Proya Wazirabad, was killed in the custody of policemen. The accused was brought from Gujranwala jail to Wazirabad city courts. All of a sudden, Ali Asghar, a resident of Sadiq Park Gujranwala, fired on Sabir Bashir, killing him instantly.
The policemen deployed at the barrier arrested the escaping killer and Wazirabad deputy superintendent of police and other policemen reached the spot immediately. Wazirabad Bar Association Secretary Asim Atta Cheema called for an immediate strike while the lawyers strongly condemned the murder of the accused in the policed custody.
