PESHAWAR – Scores of militants attacked a security checkpost in Mohmand Agency early on Wednesday, killing at least three security personnel. In retaliation, the forces reportedly gunned down 15 assailants while injuring eight others. The officials said a group of more than 70 militants attacked a Frontier Corps checkpost at Anargee in Baizai Tehsil of Mohmand Agency during the wee hours of Wednesday.
Three troops were killed and four others injured in the sever assault. Responding to the situation, the forces killed at least 15 terrorists. A Taliban spokesman, however, claimed that the militants had killed 17 troops in the offensive. He confirmed the deaths of only seven militants. There was no immediate verification of claims from both sides.
Meanwhile, the militants have claimed responsibility for the recent bombings at the Kohat Tunnel.
