Sheikhupura, Gujranwala win blind cricket matches

LAHORE – Sheikhupura and Gujranwala won their matches in the PBCC National Blind Cricket T20 Cup here at the Punjab University ground on Wednesday. Sheikopura defeated Multan by nine wickets. Sheikupura won the toss and put Multan into bat which scored just 88 runs in 20 overs for the loss of eight wickets.
Saeed Akhtar was top scorer with 27 runs. Sheikupura in reply reached the target in just 6.3 overs for the loss of one wicket. Ashraf Bhatti played an unbeaten innings of 69 and was named the Man of the match. In the second match, Gujranwala beat Attock. Attock scored mammoth total of 214 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Muhammad Sohail was the top scorer with 70 runs while Khurram Shahzad made 60.
Muhammad Akram was the pick of the bowlers. He took two wickets while Tayyab and Adnan shared a wicket each. Gujranwala, in reply, reached the target in 13.1 overs for the loss of two wickets. Muhammad Akram was the star from Gujranwala with 123 runs off 56 balls. Haroon was the only bowler from Attock to claim a wicket. Man of the match was Muhammad Akram Today, the semi-finals will be played between Lahore and Gujranwala and Okara and Sheikupura.
