LAHORE – A constitutional petition has been moved in the Lahore High Court seeking directions for ministries of interior and foreign affairs to provide the Punjab government complete information/functions of the foreigners living in the province.
Advocate Noshab A Khan filed the petition under article 199 of the constitution in the backdrop of murder of two young Pakistanis at Qurtaba Chowk by Raymond Davis. The petitioner-lawyer submitted that scarcity of correct information about Raymond was causing immense hardship for public at large and himself too.
He, therefore, prayed that the ministries of interior and foreign affairs be directed to supply all necessary information to Punjab secretary interior about foreigners in the province, their duties and functions, their whereabouts and movements.
The lawyer prayed that the Punjab govt be also directed to take all necessary measures to safeguard the life and property of citizens especially from the hands of foreigners.
