LAHORE – Palestine football team coach Moussa Bezaz has announced a 30-player squad for the bilateral series between Palestine and Pakistan. Palestine will arrive here on February 27 and will be play the first match at Lahore’s Punjab Stadium on March 1, followed by the second test on Match 4 at Karachi’s Peoples Sports Complex.
Pakistan will reciprocate by visiting Palestine during April to play the third and fourth match of the first ever series between the two nations. It will be the first international football match at Lahore after the Pakistan-Iraq clash in the 19th World Cup Qualifiers 2007, while Karachi’s football followers will get a chance to witness a FIFA-recognized international game after a lapse of more than five years.
Last time, Karachi hosted the international match between Pakistan and UAE on March 1, 2006 during the 14th Asian Cup Qualifiers. The March 1 Lahore clash will be the third between the two teams in football history.
