LAHORE – Six-years-old minor girl allegedly raped by a drunken neighbor in the precincts of the Township Police precincts here on Wednesday. The victim’s family staged a protest against the accused demanding the accused’s family be asked to leave the neighbourhood.
Uzma, resident of Township, sector B, block number four, was playing in front of her neighbour’s home. Shahid who was drunk at that time took her in his house and raped her. Maqbool, the victim’s father told Pakistan Today that his daughter was assaulted by his neighbour who was reknowned for having a bad character. Maqbool claimed Shahid had been living the locality for only a few months and that he had regularly found Shahid drunk.
Police arrested Shahid on Maqbool’s complaint. Police have charged and lodged a case against him. Residents protested and demanded that authorities take stern action and kick the family out of town. Protestors blocked the road for over an hour.
