Royal Palm Cricket Tournament from today

LAHORE – The four-day Royal Palm Cricket Tournament sponsored by Coke, GNC and FR Cables will commence on Tuesday (February 1) at the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club. The six-over-a-side extravaganza will be played under lights.
Some outstanding talent will be on display as cricketing fever builds up and the 16 contesting teams supported by a large number of friends and families try to outdo each other through performance with the bat and the ball. As per format of the tournament, the competition will be on knockout basis with 16 teams comprising six players each playing the qualifying rounds on February 1 and 2 and the winners becoming eligible for the quarter-finals on Thursday, February 3.
Each innings will be of six overs and one bowler cannot bowl more than two overs. Former Test cricketer Ijaz Ahmed will also participate with quite a few other notable cricketers. Lighting arrangements are excellent and the organisers expect a big turnout of cheering cricket watchers.
Arrangements have been made to provide ball by ball scores. The tournament will start each day at 6pm and the semi-finals and final will take place on Friday.
