Nawaz not satisfied with pace of agenda execution

LAHORE – PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has once again expressed dissatisfaction over the efforts being taken by the government in the implementation of the 10-points agenda by the government.
Nawaz voiced disappointment on Monday while presiding over a high-profile meeting called to review the current political situation, the implementation of its 10-point agenda and the reorganisation of the party. He said the proposed 10-points were in fact the real solution to all the prevailing crises being faced by the country and the countrymen. He demanded the government “do more” to implement the “proposed bailout plan in a visible manner”.
Cautioning the government, Nawaz said it should implement the vigorously, otherwise the PML-N would seek the people’s help in this regard. The meeting reviewed the government’s progress on the PML-N proposal and the party leadership concluded that the government was not taking adequate steps towards the implantation of the 10-point agenda.
The issue of US national Raymond Davis was also discussed in the meeting, while Punjab Prosecution Secretary Rana Maqbool briefed the meeting about the progress in the case. Later, the Punjab IG and the Lahore CCPO also briefed the meeting on the case.
The participants of the meeting agreed upon not issuing any statements regarding the case as was sub-judice. After the meeting, PML-N central spokesman Ahsan Iqbal said the party would approach the people for a new mandate if the PML-N’s “people-oriented agenda” was not implemented in the remaining 22 days.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Raja Zafarul Haq, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Ch Nisar Ali Khan, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Pir Sabir Shah and Salahuddin Tirmzi were also present.
