LAHORE – The Kinnaird College for Women will hold the Technology, Entertainment, Design TEDxKinnaird event in February. According to KC officials, the TEDxKinnaird is an event which provides students a centre stage to share ideas worth spreading.
The first TEDxKinnaird conference was held in February 2010 and this year its theme is “Believe in Tomorrow” which aims to create an environment that is intellectually stimulating for both speakers and participants, allowing them to interact with each other and converse on issues that matter. Last year’s speakers included radio jockey Fasi Zaka and Nadeem Chowhan.
This year’s speakers include working professionals such as Zubair Khan to students such as Natasha Noorani. According to organisers, the chosen theme is “Rethinking Us”, which aspires to reveal endless possibilities that open-up when one takes a second glance at seemingly ordinary ideas and discovers them to be profound.
The team has taken great care to ensure that the conference is not just about a few speakers, sharing their ideas, but a platform for a diverse audience, which could share their own passion and challenge the speakers. The event itself is managed entirely by a strong team of Kinnaird students including TEDxKinnaird Licensee and Curator Areej Mehdi, presently in her junior year.
