LAHORE – Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Zakaullah clinched the coveted trophy of the CAS Veterans Golf Championship in an 18-hole contest. The Championship was held at Lahore Garrison Golf and Country Club.
Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the championship and awarded trophies and prizes to the winners. In the seniors category, Air Vice Marshal Sohail Gul Khan, Air Marshal Athar Bokhari and Air Vice Marshal Saeed Muhammad Khan took the first, second and third net prizes respectively. The first, second and third gross were picked up by Air Marshal Farhat, Air Marshal Asim Suleiman and Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman.
In the amateur category, Air Commodore Shahid Aslam, Group Captain Asad Ibrahim and Wing Commander Nadeem picked up the first, second and third net prizes while first, second and third gross were claimed by Squadron Leader Atif, Squadron Leader Haseeb and Wing Commander Ikram Noor respectively. The prize for the longest drive was won by Squadron Leader Imran Tirmizi and nearest to pin by Squadron Leader Asif.
In the veterans’ category, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Zaka ullah Khan, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Anwar Mahmood Khan and Group Captain (Retd) Asim Rasheed won the first, second and third net prizes, while the prizes for first, second and third gross went to Wing Commander (Retd) Mudassir, Wing Commander (Retd) Umar Khan and Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Tanvir Mehmood Ahmed respectively.
The longest drive was hit by Group Captain (Retd) Khalid and closest to pin by Air Commodore (Retd) Raja Hafeez. In the guests’ category Mr Shakeel Asghar and Mr Nadeem Azam won the prizes for first and second net, whereas first and second gross were picked up by Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam and Salman Tanvir.
CAS Veterans Golf Championship is an annual fixture, which aims at offering an opportunity to the serving PAF golfers in interacting with their veteran counterparts and promoting healthy sports activity.
