Boys football cup on Monday

LAHORE – Six teams of Gujrawala division will show their mettle when the second Chief Minister’s Boys Football Cup kicks off at Gujranwala on Monday. According to Sports Officer Gujranwala Shah Manzar Fareed, colleges of Narowal, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujrat will take part in the football event for the 2nd CM Sports Competitions.
Manzar Fareed said the districts of Punjab produced many great sports personalities and there is plenty of hidden talent among the youth which should be nurtured and encouraged to approach to national and international standards through school and college sports, and CM Sports Competitions will play a vital role in this regard.
Earlier, Gujranwala’s Punjab College clinched the football, hockey, volleyball, cricket and athletics events while Govt. College collected the badminton title. In the girls section, four sports were played, with Punjab College winning the top slot in badminton, hockey and volleyball, while athletics was won by Model Town.
The final phase of all sports involving all districts of Punjab will be held from January 29 to February 1.
