QUETTA – The Provincial President of Jahmoori Watan Party, Shahzain Bugti, could not kick start his long march towards Dera Bugti from Quetta on Friday after the Balochistan government barred Shahzain from leaving Quetta for 90 days. He was not allowed to lead the march by a large police contingent outside his residence.
Shahzain announced that he would approach a court of law to challenge the government’s order of restriction on his movement. Shahzain had announced to march towards Dera Bugti with thousands of displaced Bugti tribesmen, who were forced to migrate to other parts of the country due to a military operation in the area in 2006.
The Balochistan government imposed restrictions on him and his brother Gohram Bugti for 90 days. Shahzain said there was an independent judiciary in the country and he would knock the doors of the judiciary to get the restrictions declared null and void.
