FAISALABAD – Pakistan can boost its foreign exchange earnings within a short period of time by producing and exporting spring-cultivated maize. This was stated by Rafhan Maize Products Managing Director Khalid Aziz, a private company, while addressing a function.
He went on to say that American spring-cultivated maize was produced after six months while Pakistan could get its produce after four months. He said that Pakistan was the leader of the pack in Asia with an approximate yield of 450,000 tonnes of spring-cultivated maize per annum.
“We can use the produce to earn precious foreign exchange, if the government harnesses the potential and encourages more cultivation,” he added.
