LAHORE – Syed Khadim Ali Shah, SVP of SAFF, feels that the Pakistan Football Federation is focusing towards establishing a sound football culture and a productive system for the proper nourishment of the available talent in the country. “The way the U14 kids of the Lyari played in the tournament has showed the authorities that the required talent is available for the upcoming 15th Asian U16 Championship,” said Khadim.
Khadim added that all the 32 matches turned out to be excellent showpieces with the U14 players exhibiting great speed and combination. The fine display showed why the Lyari young pool can be compared with any of the best upcoming players around the globe. “We are on the highway and still have a distance to cover. We need good playing fields, sponsors and hefty funds for the achievement of our mission.”
“We knew that Lyari is full of future prospects and that is why we launched the PFF Youth Development Scheme here. We plan to establish a minimum of seven academies under the PFF banner across the country in the next three years and I am hopeful that we will accomplish this target,” Khadim concluded.
