FIA obtains arrest warrants for Moonis

LAHORE – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Punjab has obtained arrest warrants for Moonis Elahi, son of former chief minister Pervez Elahi, for his involvement in the National Insurance Company Limited Rs 2.75 billion scam.
The FIA additional director general and head of the team investigating the NICL scam, Zafar Ahmed Qureshi, on Friday convened a meeting regarding progress on the NICL case. Qureshi said the process would not be stopped despite Moonis’ lawyer’s assurance that Moonis would appear for questioning next week.
He said arrest warrants for Moonis had been obtained from the court and the process regarding getting proclamation order was underway. He said FIA had also initiated the process to get red warrants for the arrest of Moonis Elahi in case he failed to appear before the investigation team in the given time.
FIA sources said Qureshi had also issued strict orders to FIA Karachi for the arrest of former director of NICL Qasim Amin Dada.
