KARACHI – The visit of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) pro-federation chief Shahzain Bugti to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine Zero is a bigger farce than the JWP chief’s arrest last month, Baloch Rights Council (BRC) chairman Abdul Wahab Baloch told Pakistan Today.
Bugti was arrested for alleged arms trafficking on December 22 last year at the Buleli check-post near Quetta while returning from Chaman after offering fateha for a Pakhtun leader, Jeelani Khan Achakzai.
Bugti’s arrest and his subsequent release on bail earlier this month on the orders of the Balochistan High Court has also been termed a farce by Baloch activists who had claimed that all of this was an attempt to turn him into a ‘hero’ and discredit his cousin Brahamdagh Bugti who is considered a leader of the Bugti clan and one of the figureheads of the Baloch National Liberation Movement.
