KARACHI – Public and private companies, listed at the country’s stock exchanges, have undertaken major managerial reshuffles, Pakistan Today has learnt. A change in board of directors and other managerial positions have occurred in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim Limited (FFBL), Jahangir Siddiqui and Company Limited (JS) and Al-Khair Gadoon Limited (AKGL).
PIA informed its shareholders, at the country’s three bourses in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore, that it had got its Board of Directors reshuffled after the federal government, through notification number F4 (14)/93-F-II, nominated Dr Waqar Masood Khan on January 19. Khan has replaced Sulman Siddiqui with immediate effect as a director at board of the national flag-carrier chaired by Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar.
The 11-member PIA board comprises two elected and nine nominated members including Federal Defence Secretary Syed Athar Ali, Managing Director Captain Mohammad Aijaz Haroon, Malik Nazir Ahmed, Mubashir Iftikhar, Syed Naseer Ahmed, Javed Akhtar, Professor Mina Ijazul Hassan, Dr Waqar Masood Khan, Husain Lawai and Khwaja Jalaluddin Roomi.
FFBL has also made changes at its helm and appointed General Muhammad Zaki as a chief executive and managing director of the company with effect from January 26. Zaki has replaced General Anis Ahmed Abbasi. Resignation of Ali Raza Siddiqui as board of director of the JS made the company appoint Munawar Alam Siddiqui to fill the vacancy.
