Lahore lift National One-Day Cup title

LAHORE – Lahore Eagles won the One-Day National Cup 2010-11 (Division-II) title beating Khan Research Laboratories in the final at the National Stadium Karachi on Thursday. In a high-scoring thriller, Lahore achieved the target on the last ball of the match in which Hamza Paracha played key lead role with his century. He pocketed Rs 25000 after he was declared the player of the final.
KRL, after choosing to bat, hammered 281 runs. Major contribution of 65 runs came from Bazid Khan while Saad Nasim snared five wickets for Eagles including a hat-trick. In reply, Lahore Eagles achieved the score on the last ball and Usman Salahuddin kept the innings together to win the match for Lahore. He started the work left by Hamza with his 109 runs. Although Mohammad Irfan got five wickets but he could not prevent Lahore from winning the match. Usman remained unbeaten at 56. With the win Lahore received a purse of Rs 250,000 while KRL got Rs 125,000.
Hamza Paracha of Lahore Eagles was the Man of the Match (Final) and got Rs 25,000 while best batsman was Ali Khan (KRL), Best Bowler Saad Nasim (Lahore Eagles), Best FielderJalat Khan (State Bank) and Best Wicketkeeper Zulfiqar Jan (KRL) and all these players were given Rs 25,000 each.
