LAHORE – Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer on Wednesday as said that the service was working to maintain internationally acknowledged standard of Rescue1122 in collaboration with the Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service of United Kingdom, which was the second largest rescue service of Europe.
Naseer said both services were working closely for the development of Community Safety Law in the pursuit of building safer communities in Pakistan through prevention of emergencies, and will bring about a big social change, which will help in reducing the increasing number of emergencies. This approach will provide a sense of safety to the citizens and is part of an on-going training and capacity building of Rescue 1122 after the MoU signing between the two services.
Earlier, the Chief Fire Officer Brain Sweeny, Fire Board Chairman and Councilor Bailie Hanzala Malik handed over two fire trucks and one aerial ladder to Naseer by Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service at a ceremony held at the SFR Headquarters at Hamilton, Scotland.
