LAHORE – A two-member national ski contingent has arrived back after attending a training camp at Harrachov in the Czech Republic. The two-week long training camp on cross-country skiing was organized and sponsored by the International Ski Federation (FIS).
The training was aimed at launching X-country events as a regular feature of national ski competitions and is expected to help Pakistan ski team to qualify for X-country events besides the Alpine skiing in Olympic Winter Games 2014, to be held in Sochi, Russia.
On return, the skiers met Air Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, President Ski Federation of Pakistan and updated him about the training activities they performed. Tahir hoped that they would fully utilize their training experience in starting X-country events at the Federation’s ski venue at Naltar.
