ISLAMABAD – Shahzain Bugti, the grandson of Akbar Bugti, has resolved to hold the long march to Dera Bugti on January 28 at every cost. “The masses from all the four provinces will march towards Dera Bugti at all cost,” he said at a crowded press conference. “In a bid to halt the long march, the government implicated me in a false case,” he alleged.
Jamhoori Watan Party leader Nawab Shahzain Bugti presented a three-point formula to stabilize the Balochistan situation. “The immediate withdrawal of security forces, trial of Pervez Musharraf for Akbar Bugti’s murder and payment of compensation to the people of Balochistan hit by army operations are the only solution for restoration of peace in the province,” he said.
The long march towards Dera Bugti from Lahore, Quetta and Karachi would be held at all cost on the scheduled day, he said. He added all marchers would meet at Kashmore from where they would march towards Dera Bugti. He doubted that his grandfather Nawab Akbar Bugt who was killed in a military operation was not present in the cave shown to the media.
“As per my information the body shown in a casket was not Bugti’s,” he said. Shahzain warned the government of dire consequence if it would try to stop their march towards their home town, saying, after the assassination of Nawab Akbar Bugti, Dera Bugti had turned into a no-go area for its own people.
To a query, he said his party had rejected the government’s Aghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan package. “Aali Bugti who succeeded Nawab Akbar Bugti after his killing as a leader of the Bugti tribe was a pawn of the establishment,” he remarked.
