In-laws kill woman, stage suicide drama in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD – A woman, allegedly murdered by her husband and in-laws, was found hanging with a ceiling fan, in Mohalla Razaabad under trhe jurisdiction of Ghulam Muhammadabad Police Station. Fauzia’s husband and in-laws allegedly killed her and then hanged her body with a ceiling fan to stage a suicide drama.
The police registered a murder case against the husband and his family after the deceased’s parents rejected the suicide version. According to details, a housewife, Fauzia, was found hanging with a ceiling fan in her house. The husband and his family told the police that Fauzia had committed suicide over some marital dispute, but the parents of the deceased rejected the suicide version altogether when they found a masking tape on the lips of the hanging dead body.
They accused the in-laws of murdering their daughter. Later, the police removed the masking tape and sent it to the finger print experts for verification. Meanwhile, the deceased’s brother lodged an FIR saying that her sister was married to Arshad seven months ago. Faouzia was quite disappointed soon after marriage because her husband had relations with other women. Arshad murdered her with the help of his brother Rehmat to remove her from the scene.
GANG-RAPE CASE REGISTERED AFTER FOUR DAYS: A gang-rape victim had to wait for four days to get her complaint registered at a police station after the incident came into the notice of a senior police officer. According to details, Mumtaz Bibi, a resident of Chak No 203 RB, reported to Mansoorabad police that her unmarried daughter was dragged by Zahid and his three accomplices to their house in the same village where she was gang-raped on January 21.
When the victim’s family came to the Mansoorabad SHO, he declined to register the case. Instead, he pressurised them to withdraw the charges and compromise with the rapists. After four days, the victim’s family went to a senior police officer who ordered the SHO to register the case. The complainant said the influential accused were still pressurizing her to withdraw the case. No arrest has so far been made by the police.
WOMAN DRUG PEDDLER HELD: The police raided a house on a tip off and arrested a woman drug peddler after a large quantity of heroin was recovered from her house. Ghulam Mohammadabad police were informed that Iqbal Bibi of Sultan Town was involved in the sale of heroin to addicts. After a secret surveillance of her activities, the police raided her house along with ladies police.
During the raid, the police party recovered one kilogram of refined heroin from her house. She was detained for interrogation while the police are trying to track down the wholesale supplier of the narcotics ring.
