ISLAMABD – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team probing into Tawana Pakistan project scam has implicated famous actor Firdous Jamal in its investigation, Pakistan Today learnt on Tuesday.
“Tawana Pakistan project management had paid Rs 20 million for media campaign of the project to a private company owned by Firdous Jamal,” a senior FIA official told Pakistan Today. He said that Firdous Jamal allegedly misappropriated public money in connivance with the Tawana Pakistan project management.
“The amount was deposited in Jamal’s company accounts by three cheques,” he said. The official said that the amount was paid to him for promotional campaign including production of documentaries in Laki Marwat, DG Khan, Pak Patang, Badeen, Gwader and Turbat. “The company made no documentary and had no recordings or documentation in this regard”, he added.
Firdous Jamal denied the allegation, saying that his company had made documentaries in Laki Marwat, DG Khan, Pak Patan, Badin, Gwadar and Turbat. “My company has telecast these documentaries on various private channels and PTV. We have all relevant record of the project and we will present it to the FIA,” said the actor.
