DCO approves construction of roads

PAKPATTAN – District development committee Pakpattan has approved construction of 7-km long roads in city area. Pakpattan DCO Syed Haider Iqbal, while presiding a meeting regarding city development package, stated that Rs 200 million would be spent on this project.
EDO Works Sajid Abbas Naqvi, District Officer Planning Muhammad Akram, DDO (T) Muhammad Iqbal and others attended the meeting. The DCO directed the EDO Works to start the project as soon as possible and complete it before the month of June. He also directed the works department that no compromise on quality of work should be made.
He also directed the other departments like Sui Gas, TMA and Public Health Engineering to complete their work before starting the construction of roads. The meeting approved the construction of College Road from Ghalla Mandi to Chowk Arrian via Nagina Chowk,Circular Road from vegetable market to Old Town Hall and Khawaja Aziz Makki Road, Dr Anwar Tanveer Road, Bassi Shareef Road, Hospital Road, Bye Pass Road, Club Road, Peer Kot Road, Pir Sultan Road and Fareed Nagar Road.
RESCUE TRAINING COURSE CONCLUDES: Rescue 1122 arranged a ‘Basic Life Support Training’ under community safety programme at Government Fareedia Post Graduate College Pakpattan. Students of different classes were trained during this programme. On the day of conclusion, College Principal Mian Rafique Qaisar and Community Safety Officer Abdul Qayum Naeemi addressed the students and said that such courses would also be offered to students in future.
Rafique while addressing the students said that this course would also be offered to teachers to safeguard the society.
Villager gunned down by unknown killers: Niaz Ahmed, a resident of Chak 33/SP, was shot dead by unknown people. Reportedly, Niaz Ahmed was sleeping at his cattle shed when some unidentified persons killed him. The police are investigating the matter.
