HAFIZABAD – Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions was observed with religious fervour amid foolproof security in Hafizabad and Pindi Bhattian. All entry points to the main venue of Majalis in Fawara Chowk were sealed by erecting barbed wires, trailers and walkthrough gates. All entrants were thoroughly checked by metal detectors.
Hundreds of police cops, including lady cops were deputed to take vigilant eye over the suspects. DHQ Hospital authorities also set up special medical camps to provide medical aid in case of any emergency, Rescue 1122 squads also remained on patrol through out the day. Zakireens including Syed Riaz Hussain Rattowal while addressing the mourners urged them to imbibe the true sprit of supreme sacrifice rendered by the Great Imam (RA) and his companions for the glorification of Islam.
They also stressed the need for forging greater unity among the Muslims to foil the evil designs of infidels to create this disunity among various sects of Muslims and to destabilise the country. Later, the mourners took out Zuljinnah procession and vent round the traditional routs by beating their chests. No untoward incident was reported from any place till the filing of the report.
FUNDS FOR UPLIFT PROJECTS RELEASED: The provincial government has released Rs 548 million for various uplift projects in the district. According to official sources, Rs 200 million has been released for the widening and reconstruction of Hafizabad-Sukheki Road, Rs 198 million for improvement of Hafizabad-Pindi Bhattain Road and 150 million for promotion of livestock and dairy development in the district.
