Ravi Club hammer MA Club by 272 runs

LAHORE – Ravi and Barki Clubs registered thumping wins on the opening day of the 5th Regional Inter-District Women Cricket Championship (Seniors) that started at different venues of the city. Ravi Club hammered MA Club by 272 runs at KC Ground while Barki Club trashed CK Club by 125 runs at the GCU Ground.
Ravi Club put MA Club attack to sword by scoring 307 runs. Farzana 79, Fara Naeem 33, Hafza 70 not out and Fariya 59 not out took the score to 307. Maryan one for 62 and Beenish one for 46 were the main bowlers to take wickets. In reply, MA Club fell 35 in 9.5 overs to Mariyam who sent back six players for 15 runs while Maham had two for eight and Aisha had one for 12.
In the other match, Barki Club achieved 178 runs for five. Asma 51, Sharish 28, Shamila 19 were the main scorers. Nusrat two for 32, Heera one for 40, Ierza one for 36 and Amina one for 20. In reply, CK Club could make only 53 for all in 13.5 overs. Sana and Soniya made 12 runs each. Ameera Urooj and Ameera Mushtaq shared five wickets each for 12 and 15 runs respectively. Today, Homic Club will face Wahdat Road College at K.C Ground.
Pakistan to play series against Nepal: The Pakistan women cricket team in will take on Nepal’s national team at home before playing the World Cup qualifiers. Talking to journalists here on the sideline of the 5th Regional Inter-District Women Cricket Championship (Seniors) 2010-2011, chairperson PCB women wing Bushra Aitzaz said that Pakistan team will go into training from February 5 to prepare for the four-match series against Nepal. She further said that before the World Cup qualifying round, the national ladies will be given maximum international exposure and for that they will be sent to Sri Lanka and then on a tour of the West Indies.
