LAHORE – Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Aslam Tareen confirmed that the blast in a mourning procession near its concluding point at the Karbla Gamay Shah was suicidal in nature.
Talking to reporters at the blast site, he said that the suicide attacker was aged between 13 to 14 years, adding police were searching the child bomber when he blew him up. The police also arrested a suspected man from the blast site, the CCPO said.
The TV channel reported that the blast occurred in a vehicle with government number plate; the vehicle was packed with explosives. Earlier, the District Emergency Officer confirmed only seven deaths.
