Islamic calligraphy exhibition

LAHORE – Islamic calligraphy exhibition of Atif Iqbal Qazi kicked off yesterday at Alhamra Art Gallery. Punjab Revenue Minister Haji Muhammad Ishaq inaugurated the exhibition, while Punjab Labour Minister Ashraf Sohna, among many others, attended the event.
The works included Quranic verses and phrases and the names of Allah. Mainly silver, black and yellow were used in his works with white background. Atif Iqbal said, “Alhamra Arts Council has always been a great institution for artists. I started my art studies here and observed Pakistani artists including Colin David, Ghulam Mustafa and Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi.”
He added calligraphy had always been an important ingredient of the Islamic culture and the Quran’s scripture was still being written in various styles. M Atif’s teacher, Irfan Ahmad Khan, said Atif was a gifted and hardworking learner, who achieved highest skills in the calligraphic art.
He has skillfully used his palette and has effectively placed the modern style among the traditional in all his works, he added. The works were appreciated by art lovers; they said the prices were quite reasonable, and these artists should be encouraged. They also said it was great to see the politicians at the event, which showed their interest in art.
Atif has been exhibiting his work for more than three years, inside and outside the country. Pakistan Calligraph Artist Guild General Secretary Imran Sultan said Atif’s innovative technique and style was admirable and his selection of vibrant colours in the calligraphy made him a distinguished member of the guild.

  2. Atif Iqbal Qazi is the most known calligrapher in Pakistan. He keep on kicking up with different exhibitions in different cities of Pakistan and sometime abroad too. I also have some australia essay writing attend these exhibitions and his art is always worth to appraise.
