ISLAMABAD – Exposing indiscipline and chaos in the government, PPP leader Nabeel Gabol said on Monday his name was put on the Exit Control List (ECL) by a junior bureaucrat and the government had no role in the move. Speaking in the National Assembly on a point of personal explanation, Gabol said he had no differences with his party.
“I want to remove the impression that there is a rift between me and my party. The mischief of putting my name on the ECL at Karachi Airport was made by a bureaucrat,” he added. Thanking the opposition leader for his support, Gabol said no one should think that he would betray the PPP.
“I started my political career from the PPP and will close my eyes in the same party,” he said, adding that Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had helped him a lot and had also addressed his problems. “I am bound to party discipline and will follow the directions of the prime minister,” he said.
Speaking on a point of order, Khwaja Saad Rafique cast doubts on Gabol’s statements, saying, “Gabol should tell the name of that bureaucrat to the House and the government should inform the House about the disciplinary action taken against that bureaucrat.”
