ISLAMABAD – The law enforcement agencies have arrested terrorists who wanted to kill political leadership as well as journalists, said Rehman Malik, the federal minister for Interior Affairs.
Speaking with media outside the Parliament House on Tuesday, he revealed that the security agencies have arrested terrorists who wanted to kill leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party, Mutahida Qaumi Movement, Awami National Party, as well as journalists.
To a question, the Interior minister said that the law enforcement agencies have seized weapons including four suicide jackets, hand grenades and rocket launchers being smuggled to vitiate law and order situation in Karachi.
Commenting on the assassination of journalist Wali Babar in Karachi, the minister said that the people involved in this crime would be brought to justice soon. He said that the law enforcers were taking targeted action in Karachi to improve law and order situation.
