LAHORE – As many as five people lost their lives in separate incidents here on Sunday in the provincial metropolis.
A 45-year-olds body was recovered near the gate number 5 of the Data Darbar in the jurisdiction of the Lower Mall Police. Police speculated that the deceased person was a drug addict and died due to a drug over dose.
As per details, a man whose identity is yet to be ascertained was lying near the gate number five of the Data Darbar as the pilgrims of the Urs spotted the suspicious body and informed the police about it. Police officials reached the location and confirmed the man’s death.. Police investigators claimed the man was a drug addict and died due to drug overdose.The body was then taken to the Mayo hospital for an autopsy. Separately another 33-years-old man found dead in the precincts of Gharishahu Police station.
A man was lying beside a road side as the locals of the area spotted the body and informed the police. Police reached the spot to find a decomposed body. Police officials speculated the man was a drug addict and died of an overdose. Police officials told that the man was yet to be identified as the police also tried to ascertain the identity after making announcements from nearby mosques but no one contacted to the police in this regard. Later the body was removed to the city mortuary for an autopsy.
Suicide: A man committed suicide after jumped in front of the train in the precincts of the Misri Shah Police Station.
An unidentified man (32) jumped in front of the train near the track of the Ik-Moriya bridge. He sustained critical injures on the various parts of his body and died instantly. Police reached the scene and shifted the body to the morgue. In another incident a youth attempted to commit suicide after taking poisonous pills in the Shahdara Police station precincts. Karamat Ali, resident of the Shahdara swallowed poisonous pills because his engagement broke. His condition became critical and he was rushed to Mayo hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
Accident: A man was knocked down and killed by the rashly driven car in the precincts of the Shahdara police station here on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Imran, 33-years-old, a resident of the Awan Town. Imran was going back to his home when an unidentified car hits him from the back side and ran over him. As a result, Imran sustained severe injures and rushed to the nearby hospital where he pronounced death.
The driver of the car managed to escape from the scene. Police still not registered the case until the filing of this report. The body was handed over to heirs after the legal procedures were completed.
