KARACHI – The PML-Q informed PML-F chief Pir Pagara on Saturday that the party is ready to mend ties with the Likeminded faction for the United Muslim League project.
The development came during a meeting of PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat with Pagara held at the latter’s residence, Kingri House. Mushahid Hussain, Ghous Bux Maher, Haleem Aadil Shaikh and other PML-Q leaders also accompanied Shujaat on the occasion.
Previously, the unification of different Muslim League factions was delayed due to Shujaat’s reservations on inducting a defector group, the PML-Likeminded, in the proposed United Muslim League. “There is no deadlock now,” Haleem Aadil Shaikh told Pakistan Today after the meeting.
He said that Shujaat has shown flexibility and Pagara has agreed to play the role of an arbitrator to remove differences between the two factions. Pagara will soon visit Lahore for this purpose, he added.
PML-Q’s Secretary General Mushahid Hussain will return to Karachi next week to finalise the modalities and the schedule of Pagara’s Lahore visit, he said, adding that Chaudhry Shujaat has told Pagara that the unification of different Muslim League factions is the need of the hour.
