Problems of employees

In Pakistan organisations which are expanding nowadays are facing a new problem which is related to the satisfaction level of employees. As organisations size is increases, employees also become less loyal to organisation because the expansion of organisation also becomes a reason of destruction of friendly and close environment. As shown in many cases employees in small organisations work like a family. They are more frank and communicate to each other. They can easily share their problems, their tasks with each other, they assistance and advise each other.

First the environment of team work finishes. Another change is diversity of departments and new hired employees gradually increase the gap of culture and organisation rapidly adopts a new environment. This new adoption also increases the problems of employees.

The simplest solution of this problem is the attachment of management with their internal customers to solve their problems, not just organisational but also personnel problems. Therefore, human resource department provides training and re-training of employees to make them loyal, productive and faithful to an organisation. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a good thing in this regard. Over the years, EAP has proved its worth to organisations by assisting in the identification and resolution of personal or work-related issues that may affect productivity and overall job satisfaction, as well as the employees personal well-being.

This programme includes short-term counselling to assist employees in evaluating the nature of their problems and to help them resolve the same with a view to improving work performance, consulting and educating managers and supervisors train employees in the identification and resolution of risk factors, evaluation and referral processes, and development of communication pathways for reporting, disturbing and dysfunctional behaviour, under its referral system, EAP refers clients to individuals/organisations that offer professional support, advice and treatment that best match the client and his/her needs, for maintaining work/life balance, a counsellor helps employees by providing advice and tips on day-to-day activities which can have a positive impact on family/work life.
